My stay at The Westin Excelsior, Rome was a mixed experience. The hotel's historical architecture is stunning and adds a sense of luxury, but the service felt disconnected, and the room quality has noticeably declined. While the location is excellent for exploring the city, the unresponsiveness during my stay left much to be desired. Overall, it seems the hotel is struggling to maintain its former glory. 😕

Rooms

I stayed in a Deluxe Double King room, and while the size and furnishings had character, they were quite worn and the cleanliness didn’t meet expectations. The beds were old, which affected my sleep quality. 🛏️
Service

The front desk and concierge staff were friendly, but I felt largely ignored by most other staff. My requests, including a simple fix for the TV, went unanswered, which was frustrating. The lobby bar service was also indifferent at times. 🤨

The hotel's location is fabulous, making it easy to access many of Rome's historic attractions. I appreciated being close to key sights, which enhanced my overall experience. 🌍
Dining

I didn't enjoy breakfast in the restaurant due to their strict rules about trade-offs for takeaway coffee. However, I heard good things about the buffet for those who participated. Still, my experience left me wanting more flexibility. ☕
Facilities
5.0
The facilities seem to be showing their age, with outdated furnishings and some wear and tear. Although the lobby is grand, overall maintenance appears lacking, and basics like irons took a lot of effort to obtain. 🏨
